morning routine

At about 4:00am Greyson starts to stir. He's hunrgy. So Greyson and I snuggle into the twin bed and he nurses and we both go back to sleep until about 7:30am (on a good day). We get up, he nurses again I change his clothes for the day and then set him down on the blanket in the office to play while I pump. (I'm still pumping at least twice a day - usually first thing in the morning and right before bed.)

While I pump Greyson plays with his toys, with Tallulah or just sucks on his hands. But often after a few minutes on the blanket he decides to take his morning nap. He just rolls himself over*, stretches out on the floor and after 6 or 7 good head tosses finds a comfy spot and sleeps for about 30 to 45 min.

First my head goes this way.

Then I flip it to this side. Repeat until the perfect spot is found.

I love this time. Often it is just long enough for me to finish pumping, start a load of diapers in the wash and if I'm really lucky...take a shower! Don't you just love that giant bubble butt?! Today he was in a Happy Heiney One Sized Diaper.

*Ever since Greyson discovered he can roll over he has slept on his tummy. No matter how many times I roll him on to his back he rolls right back over. I've given up the fight as it was one I was never going to win. Grey is a tummy sleeper.
