The Little Bird Waved at Me!

I had an appointment today to follow-up with the weekend's bleeding. They couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler so they did an ultrasound. It was scary when they couldn't find him, but it was nice to get an ultrasound. It turns out the little bird was laying with the top of his head facing my belly button - so they couldn't get a good read. Then he moved a round a little - which was so amazing to see. And then he waved at me! I saw his little are go back and forth and then he put it behind his head. The picture is wonderful because it looks like he is just kicking back and relaxing.
It was wonderful to get a peek at how much he has grown.

And no, I don't know for sure it is a boy. All the baby "parts" were out of view and they don't really like to make that guess until further along in the pregnancy - we are schuled for our 20 week appointment to find that out. But I did have a dream on Friday night that we found out the bird was a boy. I've thought that all along too. Of course his heart rate is still high 153 - which would lead one to believe the bird is a girl. Either way, happy, healthy baby is the goal. Boy or Girl.

My friend/ neighbor had a terrible scare a few weeks ago. She started bleeding and cramping (at 16ish weeks). They rushed her to the ER and, good news was that she was passing the twin that had miscarried very early on in the pregnancy. Best news, the other baby was absolutely fine. Fun stuff, they found out he was a boy. Too nifty for words, he gave them a thumbs up during the ultrasound. It's the sweetest picture of that tiny little thumb and fist like he was reassuring them all was well.

Your little person was saying, "See mom, it's fabulous in here! See how comfy I am?" I wonder if s/he will sleep like that after it's born?

Michael was just joking about wanting to see a thumbs up!

I'm glad your neighbor is doing ok and already knows her baby's flavor. :) Very exciting.

And I truly doubt that we will be getting much/any sleep once the bird arrives. I worry that s/he is doing all of his resting now!

JP was totally laid back in the womb. So much so that towards the end I was going in for NSTs every other day because he couldn't be bothered to move for me. Scared me half to death. When he was born it took forever for him to cry and I really think it was because (well, after he got un-purple) he wasn't too fussed by everything. He was an easy, happy, joyful infant and totally laid back. So, don't worry, you may just have a kiddo that takes everything in stride like his/her dad.

That would scare me too!

We can only hope for a laid back, easy going - taking after Michael baby as I was a fussy screamer. My mom now attributes that to my allergies, so hopefully we can avoid that.

I can't wait to see you little parasite! I hope that everything is going well.

My heartbeat was slow and they thought i was a boy... Soooo heartbeat guessing is clearly not an exact science! there is hope for a boy yet!
