Time to make room in the nest for PINK*!

The big ultrasound was today and we found out that we are having a little GIRL!

I'm still trying to process this information. I know what to do with boys and now I have to figure out girls! We are excited to see what she will bring to our family. Now we'll have even teams!

But I'm saying this now - she can NOT have my Samantha doll! I'll just have to get her one of her own once she's old enough!

The best news (in my opinion) is that my placenta is "as far away from the cervix as it can get". I'm breathing a HUGE sigh of relief over this one. All the issues we had with Greyson were because my placenta was too low. This one is very high, as high as it can get in fact. Safely away from both my cervix and my c-section scar line. Because of this my OB is even more confident that I'll be able to have my VBAC!! Hooray!

Additionally everything looks "perfect" (OB's words not mine!!). Brain, heart, stomach, kidneys (after working for 5 years for a kidney foundation I always ask that the ultrasound tech make sure they aren't echogenic) and umbilical vessels all look great!

Little Bird #2 was moving and flipping all around, for awhile she even had her feet over her head! It was so cool watching her wiggle. The funny thing is she has a lowish heart-rate (140's to low 150's) even while dancing all around. So much for girls having a higher heart-rate. I think this is just the way my kids are. Greyson's heart-rate was almost always in the 140's and we all know he was never still.

It was a really great visit and such a relief to know that everything is okay. Coming from where I do, I've been waiting for this appointment to relax and fall in love with this pregnancy. Gender really was an afterthought for us. Knowing that she's healthy is what matters! Now to keep her put for the next 20 weeks!!

(Photos to come after Greyson goes to bed and I figure out the scanner!)

*Not too much pink. I need to work on finding non over the top pink/purple girl things.

Most of all excited for the "healthy" confirmation at this appointment. I am beyond thrilled for you guys!!! I know it is different, but she'll teach you a lot and you will fall in love--how can you not if she is half as sweet & cute as G??!! Hugs and love to your Little Bird.

OMG Congrats on the baby girl! It is so fun to have one of each! My sister and I went shopping today for her daughter a few outfits and the girl world is so much MORE fun to shop in: the options are so endless that you'll constantly will be buying everything that is cute!
