Fever!

Greyson ran his first fever last week. Yep, that's right at 22 months he just ran his first fever. I'm sad that it coincided with us getting down to only nursing once a day and even then for a very short period of time. Is this a sign of things to come once I can't give him a daily immune boost? I know that it has to happen, he has to get sick because all babies/toddlers/kids do, but that doesn't mean I like it!

So Greyson was a lethargic and sad little monkey on Wednesday night. Some Motrin, a cool rice-pack, some sunggles with mom and an unauthorized breastfeeding session brought his fever down within a few hours.

But it came back later that night and we just couldn't shake it. I called the pediatrician and they said since it was under 103 not to worry about it and not even treat it with Motrin or Tylenol - just to let it run its course. Logically I agree with that, but as a mom it was hard not to "do" something. What we decided to "do" was snuggle up for a few days.

I made Greyson a comfy spot on the couch, snuggled Smooch Lion up next to him and we sat around and watched movies and read books.

By Friday he was fever-free and acting like his old self again. He even found a new place to read - sitting in on the end-table!
