Greyson-
People have stared asking when I'm going to ween you and the answer is "I'll nurse him as long as he wants to." I'm really hoping to keep going through the spring, but you never know. Part of why I don't want to ween anytime soon is because it is one of the few times you are "cuddly" anymore. You have never been a baby who likes to fall asleep on our chests or curls up in our arms. You are an independent man and ever since you could hold your head up you've been looking out at the world. This month though it's really hit me how much you like to do on your own. You like to feed yourself (or attempt to), you like holding your own toys and now you've started trying to explore on your own too.
You haven't mastered crawling yet, but you have a mean scoot. It is some where between an Army crawl and mimicking a bulldozer. And this scoot gets you all over the place...including trouble. The other day you fell asleep on our bed so we placed pillows on either side of you and let you sleep. When you woke up 15 min later you used your new found scooting skills to scoot to the top of the bed and then over. Dad found you with your head and shoulders on the nightstand and your bottom still on the bed! Now we've taken to barricading you in on all sides including top and bottom, although soon I expect you'll learn to shimmy over the pillows and then we are sunk.
You've started blowing raspberries and babbling more. During car rides you just sing to yourself for minutes at a time. I love your little voice. You are also becoming really good at sitting on your own. And those bottom teeth are finally really in and you love to use them! You really enjoy crunching things and have been eating puffs and mum mum's to satisfy your need to crunch. You also like biting your me and your dad, my knee seems to be your momentary favorite and let me tell you it hurts! You have some sharp teeth little man.
You are growing up so fast, I can hardly believe that 8 months have already gone by. Sometimes you don't even seem like a baby anymore - you're becoming a little boy before my eyes. I love you so much Greyson, don't grow up too fast...and if you could snuggle more I'd really appreciate that.
all my love,
momma

Happy 8 month Greyson!! You are growing up so fast. Maybe too fast for your mommy's liking. Cuddle with her, smile at her, and when you do find your words, tell her all the time that you love her. Mommies (and daddies) really like to hear that!
