learning to be full time parents!

Wow. Did you know that taking care of a baby is a 24 hour a day job? And when you are at home with him there are no nurses to come check on you every hour? I knew this and yet had no idea.

Greyson is wonderful, but exhausting! The first night we were all so thrown by the new situation that no one really slept and Greyson only ate about 1/2 what he normally did...which made him extra cranky.

Over the past 48 hours we have started to find our groove. Sleeping at night still isn't happening, but we are learning. Currently he is strapped to my chest in the Moby Wrap (thanks Aunt Gail!) which is the best thing ever. There are lots of different ways to hold him in it and it keeps him securely next to me or Michael. Greyson sleeps best next to us - I like to think we are makng up for the last 7.5 weeks - but it's hard for us to sleep that way. Michael is taking a nap right now because he was wonderful and let me sleep more last night.

Having Greyson home is amazing. I am so thankful to have him. To have him healthy. To have him home.

This is where he stayed in the Progressive Care Unit for the 60 hours or so before he went home. I don't think I could have taken much more. 8 babies and 2 nurses in a room no bigger than my living room all with monitors. It was just too crowded and there was no real privacy. I think the NICU spoiled us a little bit!

Packed up and ready to go home!
The Perry Family prepares to hit the road!

Up, Up and Away! Greyson in his coming home outfit.
Nothing fancy, but after all he has been through, he is our Superman!

(A special thanks to my Mom's co-workers for the gift card that bought
him this onesie.
You all are such amazingly kind people. Thanks!)

Ryan and I have been reading your blog and keeping a close eye on Greyson's progress and we are so very happy that your family is finally together full time! He looks so healthy and strong. Truly you are all super-human after the past 2 months!
