Tidbit: Cake

We went to church today, something we don't do regualary, but would like to. Anyway they were celebrating graduations and serving cake after the service. I grabbed a piece and we all headed out to the sandbox so Greyson could play for a bit. After the cake was gone I headed back up to the church to return the fork. I was about half-way there when Greyson started following. Michael asked where he was going and Greyson, the child who 6 months ago didn't talk at all, looked at Michael and clearly said "I'm going to get some cake."

Well, we gave him cake!

I'm amazed every day with how much he talks now. How he clear it is and how complex his sentences are. Totally worth the extra cake!

Tidbit: My Little Prankster

Earlier this week Greyson woke up and I was still not quite ready to get up. So I brought him into our bedroom and turned on Bob the Builder. I then slept for 20 more min. When I fully woke up and put on my glasses I discovered that they were covered in a thick film...
...of chapstick.

Greyson had taken my chapstick from the dresser (which I didn't think he could reach yet) and my glasses from the nightstand and gave them a protective coating.

He was still standing there, looking pretty proud of himself with the chapstick in hand.

Lesson learned - don't expect to get any bonus sleep without consequences.

Tidbit: The Pink Panther

My boys are watching The Pink Panther cartoons together this morning. Apparently The Pink Panther is the one show Greyson will actually sit and watch for longer than a few min. It doesn't hurt that he gets to watch it while sitting in his dad's lap.

Sweet Sleeper

Greyson fell asleep in my lap, while nursing. I should move him to his crib, but I just can't move him yet. 14 months after bringing my baby home I just want to hold him and love him and keep him near me.

I say this now, that he's cute and sleeping in my lap and not causing havoc like normal.

Too Tall!

Greyson has grown so much that he can no longer stand up under the computer desk. He hasn't quite figured this out and has bunked his head several times today alone. I can't believe how quickly my little guy has grown!

No Pants McGee

Greyson has mastered removing his diaper. Sigh.

2 fun things

Greyson's favorite things right now, include:

• Playing Chase Me, Chase Me! He loves for us to chase him around the house. He laughs as he looks behind him and sees us coming after him. Then we pick him up and tickle and kiss him. Who wouldn't love it?
• Bringing me socks and babylegs from his drawer to out on him. Right now he is wearing 2 pairs of socks and pair of babylegs on his arms. He's styling!

Trying to figure it all out

Greyson is always trying to figure out how things work. How to turn on the hose, how to unlock the doors and unlatch the "childproof locks", how to take the back off the remote control. While he hasn't actually mastered these things yet (well, aside from the remote!) - he is getting close. Too close.

It amazing to watch his little mind work. Although sometimes I think he is too smart and we will be in real trouble later.

Tidbit: Yogurt!

Greyson tends to run hot and cold with Yogurt. But right now he totally loves Yoplait Greek Yogurt. Specifically the Strawberry flavor. Right now he is happily covered in yogurt and bits of animal crackers.

I do not like molars!

Greyson's gums are swollen, he's unhappy and just wants to be held or nursed all the time.
I HATE teething.
It is just cruel.

Tidbit: Silver Lining the Nightmare we call Teething

Greyson has started to snuggle! Today he has just wanted to be held. I know it's because he doesn't feel well, but I'll take it!

tidbit: Boy Status

Greyson won't say "mama" or "dada" but he will make lots of car sounds as he "drives" Blue Car around the blanket - He is such a BOY!

Tidbit: Sleepy Baby

Greyson seems to be on a sleep strike today.  He is SOOOOO tired and yet will not sleep.  He nursed for a solid HOUR but would not let go nor go to sleep. 

A real post with photos will be coming this week, I just need to get in gear.
