We are back in our old house after nearly 5 months of "Adventure". I am so thankful we were able to live there. It made it possible to get the house ready to sell. We had tons of people go through the house and we generated a lot of interest. It was a very good thing - although it would have been better had the house actually sold.
The downside of living in The Adventure House was that no one slept. Aside from the week Greyson had pneumonia I think he took 6 naps in 5 months. Add that to his refusal to go to sleep until 11:00/midnight, sometimes even falling asleep well after his parents were off to dreamland, and well you have one overly exhausted and therefore cranky and crazy three-year-old. Everyone was just so tired for months and that spiraled into us just not living the way I want our family to live. So while, I'm a more than a little bummed or house hasn't sold, I'm so glad to be back on home turf.
Already both children have napped almost daily and bedtime is going much smoother. They are just happier. They are playing together and the number of tantrums we've had versus even a week ago is drastic. It is beyond wonderful having well rested, happy children again.
