Ice breaker

IMG_6398
We've found a new way to use leftover tempera paint, you know the bits leftover in the cup after you are done painting.  Now we are adding water and pouring it into zip-top bags and freezing it.  It makes fantastic colored ice - perfect for breaking.

Yes, breaking!

Honestly, who doesn't like smashing things from time to time?  Now we can do it and it is totally okay - and fun!  We hit the blocks of ice with a rubber mallet, stomped on it and threw it on the concrete.  It was fun for everyone.

The best part?  We could just walk away when we were done.  Zero clean-up, well we brought the mallet inside and washed hands, but that was it!  It rained the next day and all signs of our brightly colored fun just washed away.  Fantastic!
