Sliders

This morning, in hopes of keeping Greyson off our headboard for the day, when went to the park before it got too hot. Our park has two jungle gyms. One is the "little kid" one. It's actually fairly big with 3 slides that are about 4 feet off the ground and lots of places to climb. I took him to that one, he climbed up, went down the slide once and then saw the "BIG KID" one and bee lined it over.

I'm trying to convince him that he IS a Little Kid, but he doesn't believe me. He wants to be a BIG KID. Honey, you are not even 2 years old - I think that is the definition of "Little Kid". But he'll have no part "Little Kid". Much like Greyson refused to believe he was a preemie, he now refuses to believe he is just a toddler. I just know that in his head he is 4 or 5 and ready to take on the World.

So we head over to the BIG KID GYM and it is HUGE. It has 4 slides, the first 3 are about 5 feet up and the final one is close to 8 or 10 feet up. Where do you think he heads to?

That's right. He goes right for the biggest slide.

I follow him as he climbs up past the "easy" slides, over the creepy bridge with the gaps between the boards which are the perfect size for little feet to get stuck in, and up to the big slide. He walked right up and sat down ready to go! No, No, little one! I sat him in my lap and we went down the tall, twisty, covered slide. He didn't even smile. He was all business! But as soon as we landed he was off to the steps to do it all over again. We went down the slide 4 times before I called it quits.

It makes me sad that he's trying to grow up so fast. But very happy that all the climbing and sliding meant he took a really good nap.
