We bought a Britax Marathon today. I've been trying to decide which one to get and after much debate we decided on this one. Wow are car seats expensive! But this one should last until Greyson is 4 or 5 - there is a lot of room for him to grow. I'm happy to know that he is safe, but WOW does it take up a lot of space! I thought I had a big car, but now it feels very, very small! I have a greater understading od SUV's and minivans now.Greyson isn't too sure about this new seat, but I think that he will grow to like it. I hope so at least, because he's got to use it for a long while.

You BETTER not get an SUV. I will allow a minivan but NOT an SUV...I feel adamant about this and you know my opinion is OBVIOUSLY the one that matters :-) This is like the time you wanted to name your first child Sebastian.
What, you mean I shouldn't go get a giant SUV and change Grey's name to Sebastian? Well you just ruined my weekend plans! :)
As your GOP friend who drives a foreign carmaker's SUV, I salute you!
I drove the compact,fuel-efficent vehicle and crammed one car seat into it for 2+ years. Child number two added too much to the equation, especially when mom is 5'8" and Dad is 6'6". You can only shove those front seats up so far for the rear-facing carseat to fit behind you!
I refuse to drive a mini-van. I would embrace some station-wagons, but there ain't nothin' like my gas-guzzling SUV!!! It can put my husband, myself, our 2 carseat strapped kiddos, and my parents all inside, and I will tomorrow night, for Ella's dance recital.
Seriously it sucks, but it gets easier when you get to turn the seat to forward-facing. Then you have more room, you just have to get use to being massaged by the baby feet kicking the back of your seat!
He's growing so much and adorable!
Love to catch up sometime!
Sounds like you're all doing so well,
Jennifer
