And nobody want a Charlie Horse in their leg at 2am either!
Frankly I should have known it was coming. Yesterday I didn't drink nearly enough water nor did I get enough salt (for some unknown reason I skipped the chips and salsa and instead ate extra rice). AKA - the perfect recipe for a mid-pregnancy leg cramp.
It woke me up from a dead sleep because it felt like all the muscles in my calf decided to practice their knot tying skills. So of course I woke Michael up and made him rub it - which he did without complaint (this is why I married him).
I practiced my relaxation and tried to go back to sleep but all the late night movement woke up Mr. Man and he started doing kick lines. Which really just made me giggle because right now if he wakes up in the middle of the night I just get a few kicks - later when he wakes up in the middle of the night I'll get screaming. So I'm going to just enjoy what I've got now.
My leg is still sore, but I will make a much better effort to drink more water and get some salt in my diet today.
UPDATE: Michael tells me it was 3:30am, not 2:00. Tonight I'm drinking water and eating a banana before bed.

When I was pregnant with SG I woke-up screaming (scared poor Mr. Tonks to death) with a Charlie horse that lasted a half hour in spite of my efforts to walk and in spite of Mr. Tonks rubbing my leg furiously. My mother told me this can also be due to a potassium deficiency so you might down a banana while you're at it. :)
I'll be eating a banana and what ever else it takes not to do that again! It still hurts!
I've read before that calcium and vitamin D deficiency can cause this - and I had a run of them when I was definitely not getting enough calcium. You might have a glass of milk with that banana!
